Our Sustainability Promise
At Wave Spa & Wellness, we recognise the influence and impact that our business has on the environment and the communities in which we operate. We are committed to sustainability and to minimising our environmental footprint, while enhancing the wellbeing of our guests, employees and local communities. We are supported in this journey by our sustainability accreditation partner, Green Tourism.
Supporting Our Community
We have been proud supporters of Macmillan Cancer Support for many years. Each year, we host their charity ball at subsidised rates and contribute by providing prizes for raffles. Through our annual charity events, we have successfully raised over £100K for Macmillan, helping to fund their vital work!
We are also dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability on our extensive grounds, where we actively maintain and manage the area to support local wildlife, ensuring it remains clean, safe, and a thriving habitat for nature.
Environmental Initiatives
At Wave Spa & Wellness, we are dedicated to sustainable practices and actively participate in the IHG Green Engage programme, continuously monitoring and improving our environmental impact. Water management is a key focus, and we closely track usage to ensure efficiency.
To optimise our energy and resource consumption, we have recently installed the Kunttze and Topline control system, which precisely regulates both pool temperature and chemical dosing, ensuring optimal conditions while minimising waste. Additionally, our poolside air handling system utilises a heat exchange to maintain air temperature and moisture levels, reducing heat loss from the pool and keeping heating costs to a minimum. Our dedicated pool boiler (Potterton) is A-rated for energy efficiency, further supporting our commitment to sustainability.
Our Team
We are committed to creating a safe, healthy and sustainable workplace for all team members. Our staff play an active role in minimising our environmental impact through regular sustainability training and the support of an on-site Sustainability Champion. We closely monitor business and staff travel, encouraging public transport and car-sharing wherever possible to reduce emissions. To further our commitment to sustainability, we have incorporated EV vehicles into our operations. Additionally, we track energy and activity targets, reporting progress monthly to our head office, ensuring continuous improvement in our environmental initiatives.
Guest Support
At Wave Spa & Wellness, we proudly display our Green Tourism Silver Status plaque in the hotel reception, celebrating our achievement in sustainability. We encourage members to use local transport and provide easy access routes to the venue both on our website and on-site. Additionally, we offer electric vehicle charging points, allowing members to conveniently charge their vehicles while visiting.
